The Google Pixel 9 appears in leaked renders without the Periscope lens

Earlier this year, we came to know about the upcoming Pixel 9 and 9 Pro smartphones by Google. The information was shared by a trusted tipster named Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka Onleaks). There’s a twist to that narrative now. He disclosed that the previously rumored regular and pro variants will be sold as the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL, respectively. With the latter, the XL name—which was last seen on the Pixel four years ago—would make a comeback.

Well, this information raises the question of whether there will be a standard Pixel 0 or not. The answer appears to be positive since we have learned about it in leaked renders. According to leaked reports, the design language of the Pixel 9 is the same as the Pro and Pro XL versions. It is a compact device with a boxy design, flat frame, and curved corners. the volume and power buttons can be found on the right side of the smartphone.

A big protruding pill-shaped camera bridge can be found on the back. Like its ancestor, the camera bridge doesn’t cover the corners. According to leaked reports, the Pixel 9 features a central punch-hole camera cutout. It is surrounded by symmetrical bezels on all sides.

When it comes to the key difference between the standard and Pro versions, is reflected in the display size. Reportedly, the standard version will feature a smaller 6.03-inch screen and the Pro version will feature a 6.1-inch screen. In addition to having two cameras, the regular model will not have a periscope lens like the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL. According to Onleaks, the Pixel 9’s dimensions will be 152.8 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm without the rear camera bulge and 12 mm with it.
