The iPhone 16 Pro might come with a punch-hole display

For the next year, the Cupertino-based tech giant Apple will be releasing the iPhone 16 series. Reportedly, the new flagship series will comprise four models including the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Since October, three different leaks and rumors regarding the upcoming iPhone 16 series have emerged. The rumors have shared details like the display, camera, and processor of the upcoming series. Right now, we have come across another rumor that shares some insights about the cutouts for the front cameras on the iPhone 16.

A user, @MajinBuOfficial, posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the company is experimenting with a punch-hole display for the iPhone 16 Pro. Reportedly, the new feature will substitute the Dynamic Island found on the iPhone 15 series. The Dynamic Island feature was debuted by Apple originally with the iPhone 14 series. According to the tipster, the company has not yet decided whether to adopt this approach for the Pro model or not.

According to the report, Apple is testing a punch-hole display on the iPhone 16 Pro, but the iPhone 17 will probably be the first to sport one. This suggests that Dynamic Island-equipped displays may still be used in the iPhone 16 Pro. The leaked images indicate that the cutout is quite larger than the one found on several Android phones. Well, it could be due to the Face ID hardware that is added in addition to the camera.

The launch of the iPhone 16 series is way too far away and at this point, it is quite early to claim anything like this. Of course, we will get to know more about the flagship series over time.
