The March 2024 security update for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G is now available in the USA

The Galaxy S20 FE will still receive new security fixes every few months, even though it won’t receive the One UI 6.1 update. In the US, Samsung has made available the Galaxy S20 FE 5G security upgrade for March 2024.

In the USA, carrier-locked Galaxy S20 FE 5G devices will receive a security upgrade in March 2024

For carrier-locked Galaxy S20 FE 5G devices in the USA, a new firmware update is currently available. It is now accessible on the DISH, Metro PCS, Sprint, and T-Mobile networks across the nation and is equipped with firmware version G781USQSEHXC1. It includes the March 2024 security patch, which addresses 44 security flaws found in the last software release.

It is only a security update, and the download is not too big. Open the Settings app on your phone, go to Software Update, and select Download and Install to start the update. Alternatively, you can manually flash the updated firmware file by downloading it from our firmware database.

In the middle of 2020, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G was released with Android 10 pre-installed. Later that year, the phone got the Android 11 upgrade; in late 2021, it got the Android 12 update; and in late 2022, it got the Android 13 update. The One UI 6.0 upgrade, based on Android 14, was not applied to it. Consider updating to the Galaxy S23 FE if you wish to use Android 14.
