The media switcher of Android 13 will soon receive support for Spotify Connect

Consumer Electronic Show 2023 is ongoing. The companies are announcing and introducing new products. From mobile devices to smart home products and hardware to software everything is covered at the event. The tech company Google has come forward with a new software magic. The new software update integrates Spotify with the media switcher of Android 13. Reportedly, this newly introduced feature by Google is similar to the one already presented to YouTube Music and YouTube users.

According to a recent development, Android 13 users will be able to swap music between their Android devices i.e., smartphones and tablets to Spotify Connect devices. This operation will be carried out via the audio output switcher of Android 13. Google stated that choosing and connecting the devices for playing music can be time-taking. With this new feature, Google is introducing a convenient experience for Spotify users.

Formerly, users could connect the audio output across Bluetooth-connected devices. In December 2022, Chromecast devices received the latest feature. Among those devices, it was initially introduced to YouTube Music. In addition to this, tech company Google announced that the support will soon be extended to the YouTube app. As of now, it appears that Google is headed toward the advancement of media entertainment. It is working on a new method that will enable the content accessible on the go with the Cross-Device SDK feature.

Given this update, you can continue listening to the similar podcast on your smartphone, headphones, and TV that you were playing in your car. The company mentioned that users will be presented with a notification whenever they come across a nearby device. The notification will indicate ask users if they desire to transmit the audio content to a nearby device. The device will connect with just a single tap. As of now, the feature is in development in collaboration with YouTube Music and Spotify. However, we are not sure when such a feature will arrive.
