The New Google Meets Allows up to 8 Video Feeds on Phones

Google Meet is getting an update for its iOS and Android users, allowing a bunch of participants to be seen on certain devices.

The new update would let users see up to 8 video feeds on phones, and up to 48 video feeds on selected iPads.

In a blog post, Google wrote:

We’re expanding tile view layouts for Google Meet on iOS and Android to deliver a consistent user experience across platforms,

The new update would be activated by default. When a user joins any new Google Meet call on a tablet or mobile device, the new grid layout will automatically be displayed.

The update will be available to all Google Workspace, G Suite Basic, and G Suite Business customers. It would also be available if it’s a personal Google account.

The company is rolling out the feature gradually. The initial phase starts off with iOS users, Android to follow.
