The new MacBook Air from Apple features a 15.3-inch display

Yesterday at WWDC, Apple unveiled a new MacBook Air. The attractive aspect of this new MacBook Air is the larger 15.3 inches display. The display is basically a Liquid retina display. the device is powered by the company’s latest M2 processor.

The company has described the new MacBook Air as the world’s thinnest 15-inch laptop. It is 11.5mm thick and weighs only 3.3 pounds or 1.5 grams. Given the new M2 chip, the MacBook Air is 12 times faster. It is even faster than the Intel-based ‌MacBook Air‌ which was believed to be the fastest. Apple states that the recent MacBook Air is two times faster than the competing laptops.

Other features of the new fanless MacBook Air consist of a three-microphone array, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, and a six-speaker system that comes with two tweeters and two sets of force-canceling woofers. It also supports immersive spatial audio. Furthermore, the company claims that the laptop can offer 18 hours of battery on a single charge. Besides this, the new laptop also features MagSafe, 2 Thunderbolt ports, a 6k external display, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

When it comes to display, the MacBook Air offers 500 nits of peak brightness. It supports 1 billion colors. As compared to the best-selling Intel Core i7 PC laptop, the new MacBook Air offers 2x resolution and 25% more brightness. The M2 chip utilized in MacBook Air features an 8-core CPU that consists of four efficiency cores and four performance cores. It also features a 10-core GPU, a 16-core Neural Engine, 100GB/s memory bandwidth, and support for fast unified memory of 24GB.

The new 15-inch model comes in four different colors i.e., Silver, Space Gray, Starlight, and Midnight just like the basic MacBook Air. It is available for $1,299 or $1,199 for students. Pre-orders are open for the new MacBook Air. Deliveries are anticipated to start by next week.
