The QD-OLED gaming monitor by Samsung Display is safe for the eyes

In 2022, the tech firm Samsung introduced its first QD-OLED panels. These panels were introduced for gaming monitors. Since then the panels have been used by various companies. Samsung and several companies from dell Alienware has used the QD-OLED gaming monitors. As of now, the company claims that the QD-OLED panel is safe for the eyes in contrast to other gaming monitors available in the market.

The 34-inch QD-OLED display panel by the South Korean tech giant has received the certification regarding eye health. Reportedly, TÜV Rheinland has awarded the tech company with Eyesafe Certified 2.0 certification. Where TÜV Rheinland, is a German-based company that is concerned with testing and certifications.

The certification suggests that the panel produces less blue light and therefore, provides comfort and ease for the users. usually, the traditional gaming monitors available in the industry work to reduce the blue light by degrading the color accuracy. On the other hand, color accuracy is protected with Samsung’s latest QD-OLED tech. the company has introduced this new feature on the basis of material research.

RPF abbreviates for Radiation Protection Factor. The new Eyesafe Certified 2.0 level presents RPF. In this way, it offers a more comprehensive view of blue light emissions. The RPF number is inversely proportional to the emitted blue light. Therefore, a high RPF number will indicate fewer blue light emissions. The 34-inch QD-OLED monitor by Samsung presents an RPF 40 rating. It suggests that the monitor has a BLTF (Blue Light Toxicity Factor) somewhat between the range of 0.079 and 0.083.

In addition to this, the QD-OLED panels have also received the certification for Eye Care Display. The certification for Eye Care Display was provided by SGS. As per the analysis of SGS, the QD-OLED panel by Samsung emits less blue light in contrast to other gaming monitors that come in the size range of 31.5 inches or higher.
