The ROG Phone 8 launch event is scheduled for January 8

Major tech companies are preparing for CES 2024 to showcase their future plans. Besides the new concepts, we will have some new launches from different companies in the same timeframe. Recently, ROG announced that its 2024 series will launch just a day before CES 2024.

ASUS ROG Phone 8, the flagship gaming smartphone, will debut on January 8. Besides the new gaming smartphone series, the company could also introduce new laptops and gaming monitors at the event. In accordance with a previous rumor, the ROG Zephyris G14 is expected to arrive on January 9 along with other hardware.

The ROG Phone 8 and the ROG Phone 8 Pro were recently spotted on Geekbench. Reportedly, both smartphones will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. They will feature a new back design. According to the Geekbench listing, the Vanilla model will feature 16GB of RAM, whereas the Pro version will come with 24GB of RAM onboard. Interestingly, the standard version carries the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC; however, the Pro version is powered by an overclocked version of the chipset. Notably, its prime core has high clock speed.

In addition to these, the high-end ROG Phone 8 Ultimate is expected to feature an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC along with 24GB of RAM. Perhaps we will get to know more about these devices in the coming days. As the Lenovo Legion Phone left the gaming phone market, it’s important to focus on the Red Magic 9 series, which is now the only competitor to the ROG Phone.
