The satellite communication feature of the foldable Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 phone has been tested

According to some recent pieces of information, Xiaomi is testing a new feature for its foldable smartphones. Reportedly, the company is testing the satellite communication feature on the vertically folding MIX Fold 4. It has two rear cameras. On the other hand, the horizontally folding phone features four rear cameras.

The new information comes from blogger Smart Pikachu. Additionally, Xiaomi unveiled their new horizontal folding screen phone, and it has been rumored that they are working on a more affordable model. When it comes to satellite communication, this is a feature that has been previously presented on the company’s smartphones.

Last year, in September, it was claimed that the company would debut an exclusive version of the Xiaomi Mi 14 Pro along with satellite communication. However, this didn’t happen. There have also been rumors that the Xiaomi Mi 14 Ultra is testing its satellite connectivity capability. Previously, it was reported that the smartphone would be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Furthermore, it was reported that the device will feature a four-camera periscope with a dual-focal segment route.

Moreover, the previous models of the MIX Fold series come with a Leica optical full-focus four-camera setup. A 50MP Sony IMX800 main camera, a 10MP periscope telephoto, a 10MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens can be found on the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3. It is expected that the premium rating of the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 will increase with the addition of satellite communications functionality. Furthermore, the smartphone’s folding focus will result in a lighter design. Currently, there are no details regarding the price or launch schedule of the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4.
