These Samsung devices will receive the Galaxy AI and One UI 6.1 update in March

The South Korean tech giant Samsung is all set to roll out the One UI 6.1 software update to its older Galaxy devices. The company has shared a detailed timeline for the roll out of the software updates. The company asserts that the roll out will begin next month. First and foremost, flagship devices like the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Tab S9 series, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Z Fold 5 will receive the updates.
The software update One UI 6.1 arrived with the recently debuted Galaxy S24 series. Notably, the update includes several new AI features that are a part of Galaxy AI. With the recently released One UI 6.1 upgrade, these functionalities will be available on older devices as well. Reportedly, the new Galaxy AI features will be rolled out to 100 million Galaxy devices by the end of this year. Some of the AI-powered tools introduced by Samsung are as follow:
- Live Translate: It can provide real-time translation for voice calls, Moreover, it also works with supported messaging apps.
- Note Assist: It will help with summarizing text within the Samsung Notes app.
- Transcript Assist: This tool works in association with the Samsung Voice Recorder app. It can transcribe audio and tag multiple speakers. Furthermore, it can also generate summaries of these recordings.
- Browsing Assist: Using the Samsung Internet browser app, users can quickly summarize articles or webpages they’ve visited.
- Chat Assist: When writing messages, this tool provides tips for improving grammar and phrasing. It has support for thirteen different languages.
- Circle to Search with Google: This function allows you to find more information by circling an object or region on the screen.
- Generative Edit: As the name suggest this tool helps to remove unwanted elements from images. It also helps to adjust perspective or reposition objects within an image.
- Instant Slow-Mo: With this feature, users can convert any normal video into slow-motion video.
- Interpreter: Real-time linguistic communication between speakers of different languages is facilitated by the split-screen conversation option.
Although it is now confirmed that the aforementioned Galaxy smartphones will receive the One UI 6.1 update, it seems likely that these cutting-edge AI functions will only be available on Samsung’s flagship products, debuted in 2023 and beyond.
