The iPhone 15 leaks and rumors keep coming, and the latest unofficial pictures are projections of how small the bezels on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are believed to be.
These graphics, obtained from yeux1122 on the South Korean website Naver via AppleInsider, illustrate how the display bezels on this year’s Pro-level iPhones will correspond to the display bezels on last year’s Pro-level iPhones.
The photographs are based on previous leaks surrounding the handsets: Last week, well-known leaker Mark Gurman said that the bezels on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max would be reduced to 1.5mm from 2.2mm, a significant reduction.
These rumors have been circulating all year, and it’s evident that Apple intends to release a bezel-free iPhone as soon as feasible. We’ve also seen photos of the glass panels Apple is utilizing to manufacture the more costly iPhone 15 models, demonstrating how small the bezels could be.
This design change appears to be limited to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, leaving the normal iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus with the same bezel sizes as this year’s models.
While most of us agree that reduced bezels make for a more aesthetically pleasing phone, it remains to be seen whether the smaller bezels on new iPhones maybe the smallest bezels ever will be accompanied by a price increase.
Interestingly, the team at 9to5Mac has also created some renders of the iPhone’s front, based on previous rumors from Mark Gurman and others, so you have a choice of unauthorized images to turn to.
It appears that we will have to wait for a truly bezel-free iPhone: Apple has begun contacting vendors for bezel-less iPhone OLED panels, but they will not be available for the iPhone 15 in September 2023.
