TikTok has appointed Shouzi Chew as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company. Chew is a Singaporean national and was first working as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance.
Chew will continue to work under his ongoing role, i.e. CFO for ByteDance and take on another role – TikTok’s new CEO. The company made this announcement on Friday, April 30th.
Chew has also served as the CFO for Xiaomi from 2015 to 2020. This means that the company has appointed the right person for the role since he has a good working experience as the CFO for one of the big companies, Xiaomi.
On the other hand, we also learned the Vanessa Pappas (based in Lon Angeles), TikTok’s interim head, is now appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company.
