TV Series of Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham Announced & People are Asking ‘Why’

TV series of Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham has been announced. The hit movie of Karan Johar is being adopted and recreated into a TV series by Ekta Kapoor. As per sources, the name of the adapted TV series will be Dil Hi To Hai. It is expected to start airing on Sony in next couple of months.

The hit movie Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, released in 2001 featured Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor, Kajol and Jaya Bachchan in main lead roles.

Now Ekta Kapoor is ready to recreate the magic on silver screen.

As per the report “Bijoy Anand, who played Kajol’s wayward fiancé in the 1998 romcom Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha, has been cast to play Amitabh Bachchan’s patriarch, Yashvardhan Raichand, while Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi actress Erica Fernandes is in talks to play either Anjali or her younger sister, Pooja. The part will be finalized after a look test.”

Ekta Kapoor has also hinted about this project by tweeting,

“A family soap after years!!! Mostly done love stories recently with the backdrop of the family!! This soap will air on SONY …a family that eats together stays together no a family that accepts each other stays together.”

On a side note, Ekta is also planning to launch an Indian version of Game of Thrones. As per a source, “Though not an official adaption, the project will have the feel and look of the medieval drama.” Another source claimed, “It will have a heavy dose of sex in it.”
