Twitter is planning to release its own version of the social audio app, Clubhouse. But reportedly, it’s also said that the company may acquire the app itself. According to Bloomberg, Twitter has offered around $4 billion to acquire Clubhouse.
Though, it isn’t confirmed whether Twitter approached Clubhouse or is it the other way round. Bloomberg also reported that Clubhouse is looking to raise $4 billion, suggesting the former could have approached Clubhouse.
Clubhouse was launched in 2020 and soon became popular among the masses for its idea of hosting live audio conversations. Celebrities, tech CEOs, and other users have been tuning in and hosting rooms. Since its launch, the app has more than 10 million downloads. Interesting, the app is available for iOS users only and is currently an invite-only app.
The company is also reportedly have increased its team and hired an engineer to build an Android version. And recently is also launched its monetization plan for the creators to make money.
