Ubisoft’s Online Pirate Game Coming Out in November
Skull and Bones has been given a new release date, meaning players can set sail in search of glory and loot from November this year. Announcing the date, Ubisoft released a cinematic trailer that’s worth checking out, and there’s plenty of new gameplay from the pirate adventure to see as well. Ubisoft had already announced Skull and Bones at the E3 games show in the summer of 2017.
Since then, the game has been delayed several times and it has always been pretty quiet around the project in the meantime. It’s now clear: Skull and Bones should actually be released on November 8, 2022 – for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia. There are no more versions for the “old” generation consoles, but there is crossplay and cross-progression between all supported platforms.
Black Flag meets Sea of Thieves
Skull and Bones is an online pirate adventure designed primarily for multiplayer games. The setting is the Indian Ocean towards the end of the 17th century. In an open and diverse world, players can make a name for themselves as a fearsome pirate and prove their skills in naval battles against other ships, settlements, and fortresses.
Skull and Bones is based on the ship battles from Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. It should also be possible to take orders from merchants and pirate lords. Successes bring loot that can be put into better cannons or armor for your own fleet. Crafting should also play a big part in the Skull and Bones world. Whether players team up with their friends in the treasure hunt or compete with them is entirely up to them. If you want to play alone, that’s also possible, emphasizes Ubisoft again.
Two new trailers for the game
In the “Long Live Piracy” movie trailer, Ubisoft gets us in the mood for the golden age of piracy, showing the rise from a castaway to a notorious pirate. In addition, YouTube has a commented, and about seven and a half minutes long Skull and Bones Gameplay Video is finished.
