Until Dawn will be released on October 4th for the PlayStation 5 and PC. Sony has now announced this and also released a new trailer that compares the graphics of the new edition with the original version.
Unlike the version released in 2015 for the PlayStation 4, the remake no longer uses the Decima graphics engine, but the Unreal Engine 5. Dan Lodge, game director at Ballistic Moon Studios, promises that the change in the substructure will result in significantly more detailed and therefore more realistic characters (via PlayStationBlog).
The representation of liquids (i.e. blood) and injuries has also been improved. The game also uses ray tracing. In terms of content, Until Dawn is still based on the original, but some scenes such as the prologue have been revised or expanded. The developers have also opted for a slightly modified third-person perspective. New and modified collectibles are intended to keep fans of the game entertained.
