Update for other FritzBox: FritzOS 8.25 brings many important bug fixes

Less power consumption, more stable WiFi and a repaired parental control: The final version of FritzOS 8.25 significantly upgrades the popular FritzBox 7530 AX as an update. The update also optimizes failure protection in the event of network disruptions.

FritzOS 8.25 is leaving the beta phase

The FritzBox 7530 AX now receives the final version of FritzOS 8.25. Users can now download the update via the user interface. Fritz is now ending the test phase and bringing bug fixes and improvements to the home network for all owners of a 7530 AX. The FritzBox 7530 AX is one of the most popular models for VDSL connections in Germany. It supports Wi-Fi 6 and supervectoring at up to 300 megabits per second. FritzOS 8.25 focuses on system stability.

Like the company Fritz As stated in the release notes, the parental controls have been revised. Previously, managing schedules on small smartphone displays was only possible to a limited extent. The update also fixes a problem with blocked standard profiles, which meant that authorized devices no longer automatically connected to the WLAN.

Advanced failure protection

Another focus is on failure protection. The online monitor now shows the replacement connection in more detail. If the landline network fails, the system automatically switches to mobile networks. This also applies to connections with fixed IP configuration and IPv6. In the background, the software was made more efficient. Interoperability with newer web browsers is optimized.

The following adjustments complete the update:

  • Network adjustments for Deutsche Telekom’s telephony
  • Adding an SSL.com root certificate for encrypted VoIP
  • Correction of incorrectly assigned names of home network devices
  • Bug fix for displaying repeater IP addresses

Energy Efficient Ethernet can now be configured separately for LAN and WAN connections. Unused connections are shut down to save energy. The FritzBox 7530 AX is the updated version of the FritzBox 7530. The addition AX stands for Wi-Fi 6. It offers higher bandwidth for wireless connections than its predecessor. The update ensures the long-term stability of the hardware.
