If you’re an iPhone or iPad user, there’s good news—Vivaldi 7.1 is now available for download from the App Store! Packed with new features and improvements, this latest version is powered by Chromium 132.0.6834.110. Let’s dive into what’s new:
First up, Vivaldi Translate, which debuted in June 2021 with Vivaldi 4.0, is finally making its way to iOS! Built on Lingvanex technology, this tool supports text, document, and speech translation in over 100 languages. Once you update to 7.1, you’ll find the translate icon conveniently located next to the reload button for quick access.
The Speed Dial feature has been revamped to include sections for popular sites and frequently visited ones. Saving your favorite pages is now easier than ever—just use the new “Add page to…” option in the context menu to save directly to your home screen, Start Page, Bookmarks, or Reading List.
Previously, Bing was the default search engine for Vivaldi on iOS, but this has changed. According to Vivaldi:
“To keep Vivaldi free and independent, we’ve made a small but important update: changing some of our default search engines. These adjustments are part of our efforts to support the ongoing development of the browser. Our partner search engines that generate revenue for us are Startpage, Ecosia, DuckDuckGo, and Qwant. As part of this setup, we also made changes to ensure that ad attribution works correctly. This is needed for us to be paid by our partners.”
Vivaldi 7.1 introduces “Send Tab to Device,” allowing you to instantly share tabs between synced devices. This feature was already available on Desktop and is now on iOS as well.
