Amazon Music Unlimited is increasing its subscription prices, bringing them in line with Spotify’s plans. Individual subscribers will now pay $1 more per month, while family plan users will see a $3 hike. According to multiple Reddit users (1, 2), Amazon has started notifying subscribers about the change.
For new subscribers, these prices are already in effect. Existing members, however, can enjoy their current rates until March 5, 2025.
Amazon Music Unlimited provides more than just music streaming. Subscribers get access to over 100 million ad-free songs, podcasts, and audiobooks. The service also supports spatial and lossless audio for those with compatible devices, offering a premium listening experience similar to Apple Music.
With Apple Music and YouTube Music currently priced at $10.99/month for individual plans, Amazon’s new rates align with its competitors. However, these changes hint at a broader trend, and Apple and YouTube may soon follow with similar price hikes.
