Vivo X80 Lite leak: Smartphone with 50 MP front camera

The Vivo brand, which belongs to the Chinese BBK Group, wants to further expand its commitment in Europe with the Vivo X80 Lite and is thus bringing a well-equipped mid-range smartphone to our continent. Prices start at just under 450 euros.

The Vivo X80 Lite has not yet been officially presented, but we have already been able to find all the technical details and various official marketing images in advance. The device looks a bit reminiscent of days gone by because on the front there is a “notch” below the upper edge of the display, which is untypical for the price range of around 400 euros, in which the front camera is housed.

Rarity: 50-megapixel camera with autofocus – on the front!

The display is an AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2404×1080 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of 90 Hertz, which is generously dimensioned with its 6.44 inches and supports HDR10+. The front camera on the upper edge works with a surprisingly high resolution of 50 megapixels and even has autofocus and an F/2.0 aperture.

On the back, Vivo has installed the main sensor with 64 megapixels and an F/1.79 aperture, which is accompanied by an ultra-wide-angle camera with eight megapixels and an F/2.2 aperture and a macro camera with two megapixels. The main camera even has an optical image stabilizer, which is anything but a matter of course in this price range.

The Vivo X80 Lite is based on the MediaTek Dimensity 900 octa-core SoC, whose two high-end cores reach up to 2.4 gigahertz, while the six energy-saving cores run at a maximum of 2.0 GHz. The chip comes with an integrated 5G modem and is combined with eight gigabytes of RAM and a total of 256 GB of internal flash memory, whereby the latter can also be expanded via a microSD card slot. NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, and a fingerprint reader are also part of the equipment.

Vivo installs a 4500mAh battery in the X80 Lite, which can be charged quickly with 44 watts of fast charging. The device runs with Android 12 and Vivo’s own FunTouch OS 12 interface. When and at what price the smartphone will also be launched in Germany is currently unclear. Elsewhere in Europe, the equivalent of just under 450 euros is required for it.
