Wear OS 3 contributed to 3x more active Wear OS devices

Wear OS 3 is a collaborative project between Samsung and Google. In 2021 Google I/O, was announced by the company. In addition to this, Samsung bid farewell to its Tizen OS. It opted for the Wear OS 3 for its wearables. Recently, at the CES 2023 event, Google shared the statistics that it has gained with the Wear OS devices since May 2021. Reportedly, the company has received three times boost in Wear OS smartwatches.

In August 2021, Wear OS 3 was introduced to Galaxy Watch 4 series. While in 2022, it was introduced to the Galaxy Watch 5. Later in October 2022, it was introduced by Google to its Pixel Watch. Similarly, other smartwatches like Fossil Gen 6 and Gen 6 Wellness Edition received the updates.

According to Google, the new features as well as the convenient user experience attracted more consumers to the Wear OS. Furthermore, the tech giant mentioned that the camera app of Wear OS 3 can be used for capturing selfies. Otherwise, it could also be used as a shutter button on Pixel phones. Additionally, the Google Home can be utilized on a smartwatch with the recent OS. It can then be used to control all connected appliances.

Fast Pair was introduced on Android in 2017. As of 2022, it has reached 320+ million connections 2022. It consists of headphones from different brands like JBL, Sony, OnePlus, and Beats. In addition to this, other stats were also shared by the company. Approximately 3 billion devices have the access to Nearby Share. Furthermore, the casting feature is also observing increased support for various apps.
