WhatsApp have started rolling out multi-account support for beta testers

Since its first release on Android devices in 2010, WhatsApp has steadily gained popularity as one of the most widely used messaging services for both personal and professional communication. A multi-account system that enables users to sign into multiple accounts at once is one significant feature that is still missing. We revealed in June that the account-switching feature for WhatsApp Business had begun development. Now that WhatsApp beta version 2.23.17.8 is available on the Google Play Store, certain testers can use the feature.

Like the Business beta, this upgrade was discovered by WABetaInfo initially. By touching on the arrow that is visible next to the QR code in the top-right corner of WhatsApp’s settings screen, testers can determine if they have access to account switching. The accounts you’re currently signed into and an option to add more accounts will be displayed on a card at the bottom of the page.

Although certain beta testers may have access to this feature via version 2.23.17.7, version 2.23.17.8 has mostly become available. Unfortunately, unless you sideload the new beta via APKMirror, those of you who are not yet beta testers for WhatsApp on Android are out of luck for now. The WhatsApp Google Play Beta Program is presently full and closed to new participants.

Recently, WhatsApp has begun releasing new features for its beta testers. Testers can now send animated avatars and have access to multi-account support, in addition to being more clearly alerted to potential security threats. It’s encouraging to note that, nine years after buying WhatsApp for an estimated $19 billion in 2014, Meta is still investing heavily in the highly successful service on a weekly basis. There are still a few potential workarounds for utilizing two WhatsApp numbers simultaneously on the same phone until this feature is made available in the public version of the program, which would be very helpful.
