WhatsApp is working on Self-deleting Messages

WhatsApp

WhatsApp is reportedly working on a self-deleting messages feature that would delete old messages automatically.

An FAQ document was accessed by the website WABetainfo, which talked about the disappearing messages feature.

According to the report, the document states that users can “send messages that disappear on WhatsApp by enabling disappearing messages”.

Once the option is enabled by the users, new messages sent to individuals or group chats will disappear after a week. It has been clarified, though, that the setting will not impact messages sent or received by users earlier.

The document stated, “In an individual chat, either user can turn disappearing messages on or off. In a group chat, only group admins can turn disappearing messages on or off.”

The FAQ document stated, “If a disappearing message is forwarded to a chat with disappearing messages off, the message won’t disappear in the forwarded chat.”

The feature will be available for Android, iOS, KaiOS, Web and Desktop.
