In late July, WhatsApp rolled out a feature that allows users to send Snapchat-like video messages with a duration of 60 seconds. Voice notes are already a major part of the platform, and with these video messages, you will be able to express yourself even better. But if you’re one of those who aren’t a fan of this feature, WhatsApp is working on adding options that’ll let you toggle between voice notes and video messages.
For now, you’re able to switch between the two by tapping on the voice note button. But using this feature in this manner can be annoying. Luckily, WABetaInfo has spotted a new Video Messages toggle off, and by tapping on the Voice Note button, it will not display the Video Messages toggle anymore.
Although it won’t disable the entire video message. You’re allowed to receive and play video messages, but you won’t be able to send them. This option will be helpful if you primarily use voice messages for communication.
Some beta users claim that, despite previously sending instant video chats, the toggle was automatically turned off for them. So, after switching to the most recent build and using WhatsApp’s beta channel, think about checking the Instant Video Messages toggle in Settings > Chats.
Surprisingly, Telegram, WhatsApp’s main competitor, does not provide such a choice despite its long-standing support for video communications. Based on user input, WhatsApp will probably keep improving instant video messages in the future.
