WhatsApp might remove swipe feature that will make navigation seamless

A decent app experience requires quick and straightforward navigation. This is especially true for programs such as WhatsApp, which are widely used for business communication. However, it appears that WhatsApp may be removing the swipe features that make navigation so quick and easy.

As per information via Android Police, WABInfo discovered this modification in the app’s newest beta. As a result, if you’re using the app’s stable version, you won’t notice this change. Also, because we’re talking about the app’s beta version, you should take this news with a grain of salt. It’s unclear whether the firm will follow through.

WhatsApp might eliminate swipe gesture

The primary navigation tabs for WhatsApp are located at the top of the user interface. Your Communities, Chats, Status, and Calls tabs are located here. Swipe left or right on the UI to navigate to the desired tab if you don’t want to bother reaching for the UI’s top.

It appears that WhatsApp no longer wants that feature to be available. The source claims that the beta version of the program, 2.23.16.17, prevents you from swiping between the tabs.

Although regrettable, WhatsApp is not to blame for this. This app makes use of Material Design 3 on Android. The Material Design 3 recommendations forbid swipe able motions. Therefore, WhatsApp must do away with gestures to adhere to Material Design 3’s guidelines.

So, even though we can’t say for sure, it appears likely that WhatsApp will include this to the stable version. If you don’t want to give up the gestures, you won’t know when you’ll lose them because we don’t know when it will land.

You might want to delay updating your app if you want to keep them. That remedy will only work for so long, though, as you don’t want to neglect app updates for too long.
