WhatsApp is working on different features and updates. It is working on a Group Invitation System. Also the makers are also working on updating the WhatsApp Status’s algorithmic feed
Currently the WhatsApp Group Invitation feature is not available for users. But it was revealed that the new feature will allow users to set privacy over who can add them to group chats and when.
As of now any of your contact can add you to any group without your permission. Now you can leave it but it gets complicated at times. Once this new feature is launched, users would be able to set privacy over who is allowed to add them to groups and who is not.
Right now the feature is available for iOS beta program users. It will be launched for Android users as well in near future. Also it is presently under development so it will take time to fully function.
Users will have option of whether ‘Everyone’, ‘My Contacts’, or ‘Nobody’ can add you to a Group.
Furthermore WhatsApp is doing an experiment with the layout of Status. Statuses in WhatsApp are similar to Instagram stories. You can add video, images, and text as your Status which remains alive for 24 hours. It is being worked upon to sort Statuses as per relevance rather than chronologically.
