WhatsApp to Launch New Features Including the Silent and Vacation Mode

WhatsApp—the most widely used messaging application is known for introducing new features now and then for the facilitation of its users, as per reports it is launching 3 different features which are the Silent Mode, Vacation Mode and Linked Accounts.

The objective is to make the application much more user-friendly. As per reports, the app is testing three new features for Android and iOS. WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp would be introducing the “Silent Mode”, “Vacation Mode” and an option for linking WhatsApp and Instagram accounts.

The Silent mode would be hiding the notification badges which includes the count of unread messages on the application icon of muted chat for the Android users. As the feature would be enabled by default, there would not be any need to particularly turn the feature on by going to Settings.

As per reports, the Silent Mode of WhatsApp had already launched the feature for many Android users, however, the availability of the feature for the iOS users is not yet known revealed.

Also, WhatsApp Vacation Mode which is as per reports under the testing phase would be based on the Silent Mode—which means that when the silent mode would be enabled the vacation mode would prevent the muted archived group or individual chats from becoming active again even after the arrival of any new messages. According to The Next Web, once the option is launched it would be made available via Settings.

The third in line feature is the Linked Accounts Option. This feature would permit users to link their Instagram and WhatsApp accounts together. This would prove beneficial for those who want to recover their Facebook or Insta accounts via WhatsApp and would also be useful for cross-posting stuff across the different apps. As per Gadgets Now, the feature after launch would be available in the Profile Settings in WhatsApp.
