From 1st February 2020 iPhones that run on iOS 7 and older versions will not be supported on WhatsApp. iOS 7 operating system was introduced with the launch of the iPhone 5s in 2013. For the first time, Apple introduced its famous parallax effect and swipe-up control center at that time. Now from Feb 1st, 2020 WhatsApp will no longer work on it.
So if you are on iPhone 4 or an earlier model you do have time to set up your important data and then leave WhatsApp or you have to buy a new phone.
WhatsApp’s official statement said, “WhatsApp for iPhone requires iOS 8 or later. On iOS 7.1.2, you can no longer create new accounts or reverify existing accounts. If WhatsApp is currently active on your iOS 7.1.2 device, you will be able to use it until February 1, 2020. iOS 6 and older are no longer supported.”
WhatsApp will also stop working on a few Nokia devices and Android Platforms. The devices that will be affected are Nokia S40, Android versions 2.3.7 and older and iPhone iOS 7 and older.
