Windows 11 Insider Preview: Build 25145 fixes black screen on Surface Pro X

With the latest Insider Preview Build 25145 of Windows 11, Microsoft fixes, among other things, a familiar black screen and crashes on the 13-inch 2-in-1 Surface Pro X with the Microsoft SQ1 dubbed Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx. In addition, account management is being drilled towards Microsoft 365 and OneDrive.

Bug fixes

The latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25145, currently being rolled out in the Dev Channel, which is primarily aimed at developers and power users, fixes a bug that could cause the Surface Pro X to no longer wake from sleep mode and instead of a black screen.

Account management under Settings → Accounts has also been improved or expanded so that active subscriptions such as Microsoft 365 and OneDrive and their memory usage can now be displayed directly in the account overview.

Working under the hood

Improvements stem from the following areas with Build 25145, which takes another step towards Windows 11 23H2:

  • taskbar
  • settings
  • Explorer
  • task management
  • input

Admin tool is integrated

In addition to the “Suggested Actions” now available to all users in the US, Canada, and Mexico, a new Braille speech output driver and the Local Administrator Password Solution (“LAPS”) tool released in Windows 11 have also been integrated.

Image 1 of 2 Under Edit Group Policy → Administrative Templates → System, LAPS can be found in the future as a regular part of the operating system and no longer needs to be used as an app. The tool has also been radically changed and expanded. New is the app notifications, which provide information about the activities of the camera and microphone, but also about locations and contacts.

Build 25145 replaces Build 25140

like that Microsoft Flight Hub As can be seen, Build 25145 replaces Build 25140 in the Dev Channel, while Build 22621 in the Beta Channel represents the latest preview of Windows 11 22H2 and is also available as a system image and with the appropriate SDK.
