Xbox Game Studios Delays Redfall and Starfield Until Next Year

Development studio Bethesda has announced that both Redfall and Starfield will be delayed until next year. The titles will be released exclusively for the Xbox Series X/S. Xbox boss Phil Spencer has also released a statement about this.

Originally, Bethesda and Microsoft announced that the time-limited person shooter Redfall and the action game Starfield would see the light of day in 2022. Since its predecessor Skyrim was released on November 11, 2011, Starfield could have been released on November 11, 2022. Instead, the two games will hit the market in the first half of next year. An exact date was not given, however. It is unclear why development is taking longer than planned.

No official gameplay yet

Since not much material has been published about the two games yet, the delay was fairly predictable. While Starfield has only shown concepts so far, some gameplay scenes have been leaked for Redfall. However, official gameplay hasn’t surfaced yet either. Despite the delay, it is considered likely that the first Starfield gameplay content will be shown in June 2022.

On June 12, Microsoft and Bethesda will host a showcase event where numerous Xbox titles will be showcased. Redfall and Starfield are Xbox exclusive titles that will also be available in Game Pass. No new top titles have been added to the game’s flat rate this year, so many Game Pass fans are eagerly awaiting the shooter and action adventure. Since the move is likely to disappoint many console and PC owners, Phil Spencer has spoken out about it.

in a tweet, he makes it clear that the decision is a difficult one for both the developer studio and the fans. Still, he supports the teams behind the project and emphasizes that sometimes it takes more time to actually release games until they meet certain quality requirements.
