On Saturday, the new industry reports showed that Xiaomi has surpassed Apple and had become the 3rd biggest smartphone maker in the whole world.

Xiaomi the Chinese smartphone company has displayed an impressive performance in Q3 2020 in order to join the top 3 list. Whereas, Huawei retained its rank among the top three list.

As per the reports, Samsung the 1st company on the list has shown an amazing increase of 2 to 3% in sales whereas Huawei dipped twenty percent because of the USA’s restrictions. As far as Xiaomi is concerned, the company gained 40% in comparison to last year surpassing Apple and became the 3rd biggest, Smartphone maker.

IDC said that the smartphone market noticed a strong volume from July till September initiating from countries namely; India, Russia, Indonesia, and Brazil. Nabila Popal IDC’s Research Director said that increase in the volume has been possible because of the pent-up demand. But mainly the reason was heavy promotions and the discounts which were offered.

On the other hand, the pandemic caused distance learning which boosted the demand for low-end smartphones in India as they were inexpensive than reasonable tablets. This also created competition and put pressure on the companies.

Realme was the one which showed an extraordinary performance throughout this period as it reached 50 million shipments faster than any other smartphone company because of its different 5g range and strong performance in China. Realme managed to so within nine months.

Other developed markets like; North America, Western Europe, and Chine faced a major decline in Q3 2020 mainly because Apple launched the iPhone 12 series in October instead of launching it in September.
