We all know that Xiaomi is on the verge to launch the Mi 11 Lite 5G which is coming with two unique features: a slim body and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G SoC under the hood.
If you must know, the Snapdragon 780G is Qualcomm’s second SoC (system on chip) after Snapdragon 888, built with a 5-nanometer technological process. The SoC also uses the “1 + 3 + 4” scheme: the CPU has three clusters. The first cluster is one high-performance core, the second has three of the same cores, but operating at a lower frequency, and the third cluster has four energy-efficient cores. The Snapdragon 780G is Qualcomm’s second SoC is missing the Cortex-X1 super core, which is very powerful. But it is said that it is also the source of power consumption and heating issues for the Snapdragon 888.
Alternatively, the Snapdragon 780G has equipped its cores with the well-known Cortex-A78. Compared to other devices of the Mi 11 series, the Mi 11 Lite 5G is the thinnest and lightest having no problems with autonomy. Additionally, the SoC is also moving to a 5nm process and dropping the Cortex-X1 from the SoC could be a very good combination.
According to the source, the CPU is 45% faster than the Snapdragon 768G CPU.
The Snapdragon 780G is also equipped with a 5G modem, the Spectra 570 image processor (which allows users to take photos from three cameras simultaneously), and benefits from updated GPU drivers and Snapdragon Elite Gaming features.
