Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite Specifications Exposed

Just a few weeks after the presentation of the new Xiaomi Mi Watch, an even cheaper variant in the form of the Mi Watch Lite is now available. The first images and specifications of the rectangular smartwatch were found at the FCC.

The resourceful Weibo blogger Digital Chat Station has become aware of various documents from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that accompany the certification process of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite. In addition to a comparatively low-resolution image of the new Smartwatch, these provide an outlook on the technical data of the model, also known as the Redmi Watch. The fact that it is not just a slimmed-down version of the Mi Watch is shown by a rectangular instead of round design.

Lite version is a smartwatch for beginners

The few available specifications confirm, among other things, a 1.41-inch color display with touch input and a simple auto-brightness function. Furthermore, a heart rate monitor and a GPS module should be on board. In addition to various fitness modes, the Chinese manufacturer highlights swimming monitoring. 

The Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite is waterproof to a depth of 50 meters and should also be able to record swimming strokes. Finally, the battery has a capacity of 230mAh and the compatibility from Apple iOS 10 and Google Android 4.4 is listed. Compared to the previously unconfirmed Lite version, the Xiaomi Mi Watch, which was announced for the European market at the end of September, will appear with a 1.39-inch OLED display in a round layout. For a price of 119 euros, GPS, heart rate monitors, and sensors for blood oxygen content and air pressure are also installed. Furthermore, the battery life should be up to 16 days. The delivery of the Mi Watch is planned for the beginning of 2021 in some parts of Europe. Whether and when to expect the Mi Watch Lite remains as unclear as to the pricing.
