Yahoo Mobile is Shutting Down – Users Must Switch to Visible

Yahoo Mobile is shutting down its business. The company uses Verizon’s network. The service was launched in March 2020. For users using Yahoo Mobile should switch to Visible, another Version-operated service.

Verizon acquired Yahoo back in 2016 for $4.83 billion. In March 2020, the company launched Yahoo Mobile with only one plan, offering unlimited talk, text, and 4G LTE data just for $40 per month.

Going deeper, we learned that Yahoo Mobile was basically a rebranded version of Visible, another Verizon-operated service. During its operation, the company could only launch the budget Blade A3 Prime and Blade A3Y by ZTE before it gets shut down.

Verizon sold Yahoo Mobile and other brands coming under its Verizon Media to an investment management company, Apollo Global Management.

As of now, Yahoo Mobile members are still using Verizon’s service. They would be able to use the service for this billing cycle and renew it for one more month, but from August 31st, they would have to move to another carrier.
