The ZTE Axon 20 5G will soon be the first smartphone to feature an invisible selfie camera. The CEO apparently can’t wait for the launch himself and has now shared a first, official marketing image showing the design of the device.
The photo was posted on the Chinese social media platform Weibo by ZTE boss Ni Fei, GSM Arena also reported the official renders. As expected, only the screen can be seen on the front of the smartphone. The front camera is placed under the display and therefore cannot be seen. The rear has a vertically arranged quad camera. While the selfie camera takes 32-megapixel images, a 64 and an 8-megapixel sensor do their work at the back.
A 5G-capable SoC from MediaTek is used inside the ZTE Axon 20 5G. Which processor it has not yet been named. The CPU is supported by six, eight, or twelve gigabytes of RAM, depending on the model. The internal memory of between 64 and 256 gigabytes can be expanded with the help of a micro SD card. The battery capacity is 4120 mAh. The 6.92 inch OLED display has a resolution of 2460 x 1080 pixels and thus offers full HD resolution.
Android 10 is used as the operating system. It is considered likely that the manufacturer will provide an update after the release of Android 11. The smartphone is to be presented on September 1st and then delivered. It is not yet known what price the future flagship model will cost.
