3G/4G Users in Pakistan Reached 51.248 Million in February—Claims PTA

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has said that the number of 3G/4G users in Pakistan has reached 51.248 million by the end of February 2018.

Going further into the details the number of mobile users in Pakistan has reached 147.204 million during this period as compared to 145.99 million by the end of January 2018, there was an increase of 1.214 million users in one month.

Jazz User Count

Jazz is the largest 3G network in the country recorded 14.88 million users by the end of February as compared to 14.54 million users by the end of January 2018, Jazz witnessed an increase of 0.34 million users to their user base. Similarly, Jazz 4G users sprouted from 2,238,018 by the end of January to 2,590,095 by the end of February 2018.

Zong User Count

Zong 3G users were decreased to 8.893 million during the period under review which fell from 9.089 in January 2018 however, there was a significant increase in 4G subscribers, from 5,072,443 to 5,830,231 during the one month period.

Telenor User Count

Telenor also witnessed an increase in 3G subscribers from 10.756 million by the end of January to 10.878 million by the end of February 2018. The number of 4G users also increased during this period from 1,883,616 to 2,154,238 during the period under review.

Ufone User Count

Ufone also added more 3G users to their existing user base, 0.149 million users were added during one month reaching the total of 6.018 million as compared to January 2018 5.869 million.

Pakistan’s teledensity has reached 74.04 percent by the end of February, the growing use of mobile and internet in Pakistan is creating more opportunities for businesses. The IT industry in Pakistan also depends on broadband and mobile penetration which is a precursor to future growth.
