Evernote introduces Offline Notes feature to its app

iOS 16.1 beta

Evernote is a popular platform known for notes and task management. This week, Evernote announced that it will be adding a new feature known as Offline Notes. As the name indicates, this feature will enable the users to download their notes as well as other content without a Wi-Fi or cellular connection. The mobile app of Evernote will provide users with quick access even when offline.

In accordance with Evernote, the new feature makes it quite easy to browse through projects, ideas, and thoughts offline when required. Back then Evernote saved only a minimal amount of data per note. It was kept in a temporary cache.

Given this feature, users can select the notes they wish to download in order to access them offline. In this way, their notes will be kept in the Evernote app with all the contents intact. The app features two options for downloading: either you can download individual notes or whole notebooks. Thus, viewing and editing them offline. Where the edited part will be synced to the cloud once the device is connected to an internet connection.

Users of Evernote with paid subscriptions can enjoy this feature. With this feature, it is ensured that users have access to their stuff on their mobile devices even when there is no internet connection.

To make any note available offline, users are required to swipe left on the note list. Followed by that tap on the green button for downloading the note. In addition to this, an Offline tab is also presented in the sidebar of the app. It enables the users to quickly filter out the downloaded under a single place. However, do note that this feature requires a paid Evernote subscription.

During the last month, the iOS app of Evernote was upgraded with lock screen widgets on iPhone. It is available free on both iPhone as well as on iPad via the App Store. Details about the subscriptions can be found on Evernote’s website.
