Mouse for MMO players: Razer’s new Naga V3 Pro is a button monster
Razer is launching a new MMO mouse with the Naga V3 Pro. Three magnetic side panels provide up to 23 programmable buttons, and the new 50,000 DPI sensor is inside. The catch: 117 grams in weight and a price of 199.99 euros.
Modular mouse for MMO players
A new version of Razer’s well-known gaming mouse, the Naga V3 Pro, is now on the shelf. The manufacturer is primarily aimed at players of massively multiplayer online games (MMO) and MOBAs. The modular concept of the previous models is consistently continued and supplemented with the latest technology modules for more precise control.
The core feature of the mouse remains the three interchangeable, magnetic side parts. Users can switch between layouts with two, six or twelve buttons to flexibly adapt the peripherals to different game genres. In total, the Naga V3 Pro offers up to 23 programmable buttons in the maximum configuration – an advantage for complex games with many commands.
As a long-time Naga user and MMO player, the mouse wheel was a thorn in my side with the last generation (V2 Pro). Although it could be personalized to the maximum, in the end I never found the optimal setting for me that other Razer mice came with from the factory. New sensor and optical switches
As Razer explains in a press release, the Focus Pro 50K Optical Sensor Gen-3 is used inside the Naga V3 Pro. The sensor has a resolution of up to 50,000 dots per inch (DPI). Although such extreme values are of little practical use for most players in everyday life, the built-in technology ensures high precision during scanning. Razer also uses its fourth generation optical switches.
According to official information, the components are designed for 100 million clicks and are intended to prevent unwanted double clicks. Another innovation concerns the mouse wheel. The so-called HyperScroll Tilt Wheel Gen-2 offers various scroll modes, including a tactile mode with 48 locking levels and an automatic freewheel. In addition, the ring finger button (can be locked) and two quick access keys next to the left mouse button return.
Battery life and heavy weight
The connection to the PC can be done either via a USB cable, Bluetooth or a radio connection with 2.4 gigahertz. The battery life is stated to be up to 155 hours in wireless mode and 280 hours via Bluetooth. A possible disadvantage for competitive e-athletes is the comparatively high weight. With the side panel for twelve buttons, the mouse weighs 117 grams, making it significantly heavier than shooter mice. The Naga V3 Pro is now available in stores at a recommended retail price of 199.99 euros.
