TikTok is getting closer to being completely banned in the United States

TikTok is facing quite a lot of challenges in the US market. Unfortunately, the app has been under scrutiny by the US government for the last few years. Several US politicians raised their concerns about the Chinese-owned platform. According to them, TikTok is a threat to their national security.
According to Reuters report, a bill relevant to TikTok has been passed by the US House of Representatives. The details indicate that ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, must sell its US assets or fear a complete ban in the region.
After passing 352-65, the bill will now be forwarded to the Senate for a vote. Fourteen US representatives—seven from the Democratic Party and seven from the Republican Party—did not cast ballots, while one representative cast a “present” vote.
In addition to this, last week, the US President announced that he would sign the bill to ban TikTok in the country. However, it is assumed that the bill might be subjected to an indeterminate destiny in the Senate.
Well, this is not something new from the US government. In the past, the US government has taken action against several Chinese companies and industries by using the national security issue. A trade ban was imposed on Huawei. Even the government banned the chipmakers from providing advanced chip manufacturing equipment to Chinese companies. The US companies are banned for selling advanced AI chips to Chinese companies.
