Skeleton Crew – The first trailer for the new Star Wars series is here
Disney and Lucasfilm released a first trailer for the upcoming Star Wars series Skeleton Crew over the weekend. The series is about a group of children who experience a huge adventure in a galaxy far, far away. It starts in early December.
Big adventure with little heroes
The Acolyte has just ended on Disney+, and fans can already look forward to the next series in the popular science fiction universe. Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will launch later this year and was presented in more detail with a first trailer at the D23 fan event. This suggests that the series created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford (Spider-Man: Homecoming) could feel significantly different from previous Star Wars series. Comments on YouTube compare what is shown with the 1980s cult film The Goonies. The series focuses on a group of children who lead a sheltered but also rather boring life on their home planet and are therefore looking for a real adventure.
And this adventure doesn’t take long to arrive, because the gang discovers an old Jedi temple in a forest – and ends up getting lost in a dangerous and unknown galaxy and has to somehow find a way back home. The trailer doesn’t reveal exactly how this happens, but it is certain that the protagonists Wim (played by Ravi Cabot-Conyers), Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong), KB (Kyriana Kratter) and Neel (Robert Timothy Smith) are not alone on their journey, but are accompanied by the mysterious Jod Na Nawood (Jude Law) and the droid SM-33 (voiced by Nick Frost). The whole thing is set in the era of the New Republic.
Series starts in December
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will launch on December 3, 2024 with two episodes in a row. All others will then follow on a weekly basis on Disney+, with the season comprising a total of eight episodes.
