New Islamabad Airport Should be Named after Edhi – Jeremy McLellan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, & Others Tweet

New Islamabad International Airport has No Name. Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi rejected all three names that were proposed to him for new Islamabad International Airport. The three names suggested to the Prime Minister by his colleagues for the New Islamabad International Airport were Liaquat Ali Khan, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, and Gandhara. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi refused all the names “without giving any specific justification”.

Now the Twitterati’s have another suggestion for the name of New Islamabad Airport. They want it to be named after Abdul Sattar Edhi.

Jeremy McLellan tweeted

“There’s a new airport in Islamabad and they haven’t named it yet. In my opinion it should be named in honor of the legendary humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi. RT if you agree!”

Aftab Iqbal tweeted, “The new Islamabad International airport must be named after saheb only! Retweet if you agree…”

Hamza Ali Abbasi expressed his similar wish in these words,”I wish we name New Islamabad Airport after Abdul Sattar EDHI sahab….. I wish!”

Tehmina Durrani tweeted, “The name ‘Edhi International airport Islamabad’ will be an instant, powerful & resonating lesson…. utilize its value against terrorism. Claim a new identity.”

Mubashir Hashmi said,”The new Islamabad airport must be named as Abdul Sattar Edhi Airport as promised and endorsed by some politicians before. This is the least we can do for him as Pakistanis”

Deepak Parwani tweeted, “The only name that should be given to the Islamabad airport should be Edhi international he’s is Pakistan’s real hero in the 21st century .”
