Intel Fires its marketing team

Intel apparently plans radical clear cuts in its marketing department. By outsourcing all marketing activities to the advisory group Accenture, thousands of employees should lose their jobs at Intel. The new CEO is fully relating to AI.

Intel is practically complete by marketing

The new Intel boss Lip-Bu Tan wants to reduce the costs with a drastic step. In cooperation with the consulting giant Accenture, the number of Intel employees in the marketing area is to be reduced to a minimum. Accenture should then take on practically all marketing tasks for the chip giant and use artificial intelligence on a large scale. Most employees of the Intel marketing department are likely to lose their job around mid-July. In a message to the workforce, Intel-CEO TAN explained that marketing would almost be completely outsourced to accenture. Using AI technology, the consulting group should then ensure that the potential customers of Intel can be better achieved.

Only “slim” teams should remain within Intel, according to the US newspaper it was said The Oregonian. Intel still did not provide any information about how many employees should go. It is also unclear how the layoffs affect internationally, after all, the chip manufacturer also employs various employees all over the world in marketing. The changes in the marketing department should above all become “slimmer, faster and more efficient”, according to Tan in his letter. Accenture has been a partner for a long time and should now work even closer together with Intel. Intel can achieve significant savings by using AI in marketing through Accenture.

Apparently, some Intel employees are also supposed to help train at Accenture employees who will replace them in the future. As usual with many tech managers today, Tan could not avoid praising the possibilities of AI. The technology could help analyze large amounts of information faster and to automate routine tasks. The teams want to give the ability to concentrate on strategic, creative and effective work by automating repeating and time -consuming work.
