Galaxy S Light Luxury: The trimmed version of the Galaxy S8 is here
There have been tidbits of gossip in the market that the Galaxy S8 will get a lite version and now the news has been official as told by SamMobile. The handset bearing model number SM-G8750 has now been officially announced in China as the Galaxy S Light Luxury. The lite version of the Samsung flagship phone its debut in China. Instead of calling it the Galaxy S8 Lite, the company has called it the Galaxy S Light Luxury”. However, do not be fooled but know that this is a trimmed down version of the Samsung flagship Galaxy S8 device when it comes to specs but has the same design sense. It comes with a physical Bixby button and a very awkwardly positioned fingerprint scanner.
What does the Galaxy S Light Luxury have?
The 5.8-inch “infinity” display has an 18.5:9 aspect ratio and FHD+ resolution. Inside, there’s a Snapdragon 660 chip (the S8 has a Snapdragon 835 chip), 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. The front camera and rear cameras support 8 megapixels and 16 megapixels, respectively, and the phone has IP68 water and dust resistance, Samsung Pay, wireless charging, facial recognition, a 3,000mAh battery, and an iris scanner. The S Light Luxury also runs on Android Oreo. It includes 4G LTE support as well.
The phone is available from Chinese online shopping site JD.com, for ¥3999 (about $626). The company is selling the Galaxy S Light Luxury in Burgundy Red and Midnight Black colors. If you’re early, you can pre order it until June 1st for ¥3699 (around $579). There’s no word yet on if or when this handset will be released globally.
