Amazon Fire TV: New update brings adaptive display function
Amazon is now distributing the Adaptive Display update for current Fire TV models. The function helps with vision problems and specifically enlarges text and buttons without distorting graphics or film posters on the television.
Rollout for Adaptive Display started
Distribution of the “Adaptive Display” function for the first streaming devices has begun. The feature for greater accessibility was announced in the spring and is now being made available via a software update. The aim is to improve the readability of the user interface on televisions. The software dynamically adapts texts, buttons and other elements. Unlike enlarging the entire screen, proportions are retained, avoiding display errors.
Adjustment in the settings
As Amazon reports, the display can be adjusted in several stages. The rollout will take place gradually and will initially reach newer models such as the Fire TV Stick 4K Select and the Fire TV Stick HD. The feature builds on a revamped Fire TV interface that was unveiled at CES 2026. Amazon has been developing accessibility features for years, including the VoiceView screen reader and support for Bluetooth hearing aids via ASHA and Auracast. The offer also includes the dialogue boost for improved speech intelligibility. “Adaptive Display” is activated via the system settings; adjustment is possible without rebooting. The update will be distributed worldwide in a staggered manner. For older devices, deployment may be delayed.
