Microsoft 365 with glitches: Users see 502 and 503 errors
Microsoft 365 is again affected by a disruption. Users have been reporting problems accessing central services in the office and cloud suite since Wednesday evening. When accessing, the HTTP error codes 502 and 503 sometimes appear.

Microsoft has classified the incident as an ongoing service disruption, ID MO1472904. According to the company, engineers are reviewing telemetry data and feedback from those affected to narrow down the cause. A time for a complete fix was initially not known. Error codes 502 and 503 usually indicate that a server is temporarily unavailable or a request via an intermediary service cannot be successfully processed. Initially they say nothing about incorrect access data or a problem with the personal Microsoft account.
The extent of the disruption was initially unclear. Such issues can affect individual Microsoft 365 services, specific regions, or just individual customer organizations. Microsoft directed administrators to the Microsoft 365 admin center and its status information to review scope details. Microsoft has had to review its cloud offerings several times in recent months due to technical problems. It is not yet known whether the current incident is related to previous disruptions and perhaps has a similar trigger.
Microsoft confirms problems
So far, Microsoft has only confirmed the problems, but has not published anything about the cause or a possible solution. Which services have failed in detail has not yet been reported. As a rule, such outages only last for a short time and can be brought under control on the server side. Since it is most likely a server-side problem, local tricks only help to a limited extent or not at all, so those affected can only wait and see for now.
