A leaked LinkedIn profile from an Apple employee supports news about 2nm TSMC chip production

Apple is carrying out rigorous research and development in an effort to improve its iPhone series. In the past, it was reported that the company intends to utilize the TSMC’s 2nm process. If this happens, then the performance and efficiency of Apple devices will significantly increase. We have some updates about this matter now.

A LinkedIn profile belonging to an Apple employee that was leaked revealed that the company is actively working on these next-generation semiconductors. Although it is not a big reveal in itself it however, highlights the strategic moves of the company in the tech landscape. Previously, TSMC announced that the mass production of 2mn chips will begin in 2025. Apple is reportedly the potential first client for these chips.

The allegedly hacked LinkedIn profile indicated prior work on 5nm and 3nm semiconductors in addition to engagement in “TS2nm” technology, albeit with significant modifications. This suggests a long history of experience in semiconductor creation, spanning major tech companies like Google, AMD, Samsung, and Qualcomm.

We can expect that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models might accompany this chip that are scheduled to debut in 2025. The transition to 2nm technology will bring about major improvements in energy efficiency and processing speed, which could change user experiences by enabling quicker, more powerful devices without sacrificing battery life. To be honest, we’ve seen what a flagship product can do in terms of optimization from Apple’s previous generations.
