A report claims that Samsung is developing an affordable foldable smartphone

Since the last few months, there has been a lot of discussion regarding a third foldable phone from Samsung. We have heard equally about an affordable option as well as a high-end Ultra model of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6.

According to a recent report by ETnews, the Korean news source, in contrast to the expensive Ultra version, the company is working on an affordable version of the Galaxy Z Fold. The tipster, Tech Reve asserts that it could be named the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE that clearly indicates the budget-friendly version.

As you may know, in Samsung’s product line, “FE” usually refers to “Fan Edition.” By making some sacrifices, these FE edition smartphones typically provide flagship experiences at a reduced-price range. The rumored Galaxy Z Fold FE might coincide with this approach.

According to the ETNews report, the budget-friendly option might lack the S-Pen stylus support. This information is consistent with the rumor suggesting that the Ultra Fold 6 model will feature the stylus support whereas the regular Fold might not.

It is not clear whether the upcoming variant will be a budget-friendly model or an Ultra model. However, it is kind of clear that the company is working on a third foldable device. Some previous reports indicate that the company is using ‘Q6A’ as the internal code of this device.

It is anticipated that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 will make their debut at an Unpacked event in the latter part of the year. At the same event, Samsung may possibly unveil its third foldable device. The only information we currently have about the next Samsung foldable is that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 renders have already appeared online. As soon as fresh information becomes available, we’ll keep you informed.
