All You Need to Know About the New Asus ZenFone 8

Lately, w have been hearing a lot about the Asus ZenFone 8 but never like this. While searching for the latest tech news, I found a lot of incoming news about this new smartphone. So here I am with some (probably) new and exciting news.

So we already knew that this ZenFone 8 is a 5-9-inch screen-sized smartphone (we counted 5.92″ previously). It would feature an AMOLED display (Samsung E4) with 1080p resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio.

The panel has a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. It is HDR10+ certified, covers 112% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and comes with well-calibrated colours.

The screen is well-protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. And is further protected against dust and water. It would have a measurement of 148×68.5×8.9 mm and weighs 169g.

On the camera side, we have a dual rear camera setup with a 64MP primary sensor along with 0.8µm pixels and a Quad Bayer filter.

This device has a camera that features Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and can record 8K video at 24fps (with EIS enabled). 4K/60 fps is also available, as is 1080p/60 fps with HyperSteady.

The second camera is a 12MP IMX363 sensor (1/2.55”), has 1.4µm pixels Dual Pixel autofocus, and its lens (with 14.3mm focal length) can focus at 4cm distance to shoot macro photos.

The front camera is a 12MP IMX663 imager (1/2.93”, 1.22µm), with Dual Pixel AF. The ultrawide and the selfie cameras can record 4K video (at 60fps and 30fps, respectively).

Under the hood, we have an S888 chipset paired with 128GB and 256GB storage, with three RAM options – 6GB, 8GB and 16GB. The USB-C port supports 30W HyperCharge for fast and safe charging.

Other notable features of this smartphone include a 3.5mm audio jack, two linear speakers with dual Cirrus Logic mono amps (CS35L45) and Dirac HD Sound support.

The Asus Zenfone 8 is available in two colourways – Horizon Silver and Obsidian Black. The Asus Zenfone 8 would initially come for €600. Later on, its price could go high as €700.
