Amazon reduces minimum purchase limit to qualify for fee holiday shipping

Amazon has lifted the minimum purchase requirement for consumers to qualify for free delivery for non-prime members.

The US retailer has dropped the minimum order requirement to $25, now you will have to only spend $25 to qualify for free standard shipping at Amazon. The standard shipping service normally takes between 5 to 8 days.

Amazon has not announced yet until when this promotion runs, however, it does say that it is a limited time offer for holiday season.

The decision comes after the company had introduced free two-day shipping in an attempt to grab more market during the holiday shopping season. Walmart on the other hand also offers free two-day shipping on orders $35 and more.

Amazon’s recent promotion would add more pressure to the other retailers. Amazon’s promotional offers create more value for consumers as well as the company, with its effective promotional strategy the company was able to become a trillion dollar company after Apple.

The company has introduced several new features in the past including Grocery order via Prime Now, reduced membership cost for UK consumers, Whole Food Delivery in 10 more cities.
