AMD addresses the GPU overheating issue with RX 7900 XTX

The company now appears to be serious about the growing concerns for the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX. Previously the company mentioned that the temperature range of 110 degrees Celsius was not something to worry about. But the issue being reported by several users has now grabbed the attention of the company.

It indicates that demand for returning the AMD RX 7900 XTX reference graphics cards was rejected. A temperature range of 110 degrees Celsius might be tolerable. But thermal throttling is quite surprising. The company is now asking consumers to contact AMD customer support in case they experience thermal throttling. Perhaps this is not the first problem with the latest GPU of AMD. That is why the issue is catered immediately.

Thermal throttling happens when the performance drops and fans start to work at their full potential. If you experience so, it indicates that your AMD RX 7900 XTX card is undergoing thermal throttling. For checking it, you need to open the software for observing the performance, like the AMD Adrenalin. Note the performance of graphics in contrast to temperature. If the temperature range is around 110 degree Celsius and GPU slows down. It identifies that the card is throttling in order to maintain the temperatures within the safe range.

Reportedly the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX is more efficient in contrast to the RX 7900 XT. Since it presents several added cores. The cores offer capacity for computing, AI, and Ray tracing. Additionally, it accompanies a wiser memory bus. The RX 7900 XTX utilizes around 355W. This is almost 40W more than its lower-cost family member.

It seems like AMD has taken things to an advanced level. But throttling seems to appear a common problem with the better graphics card. The GPU by Nvidia, the GeForce RTX 4090 reportedly has some heating issues as well. As of now, the number of users facing this issue is limited. But it is not that good for AMD to overlook it.
